Bijou Banza Monga
Bijou is a lawyer by training and for 17 years she has been coordinating projects
against domestic violence and exclusion (C.V.F.E.) for a non-profit organization based
in Liège, Belgium. These projects entail support for victims of domestic violence in the
resumption of power over their lives through legal and administrative procedures and
the preparation of a file for civil and criminal judicial proceedings. In addition, Bijou is
very passionate about social challenges related to the equality of men and women.
She devotes her time to it by initiating reflections and widely sensitizing the need for
equality in society and the deconstruction of the patriarchal model. In addition to her
numerous professional training courses in foreign law, intercultural approaches,
marriage and migration, Bijou holds a bachelor’s degree in law from the Higher
Institute of Higher Education in Liege (ISELL), a post-graduate diploma in Mediation
and she is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Gender Studies with the University
Catholic of Louvain (UCL), Belgium. Bijou is a member of the finance committee and
is also a legal advisor for the Ndjandja project.
